Stunt Driver
1. You and your dad Russ are famous for precision driving and stunts. Did your dad ever try to persuade you to have a different career?
No, infact he taught me to ride the family ride on lawn mower on two wheels at the age of seven so I think my future was sealed there and then.
2. Are you cars modified for each individual stunt or driving display?
Not really we perform our shows all over the world now and we have to be able to perform with pretty much any car, obviously the better the car the
better the show can be but we aim to keep them as standard as possible. Team Dynamics sponsor us so we always fit the cars with nice rims.
3. What is your favourite car to perform with?
I am currently using the new Ford Focus RS in the UK and I am very impressed with that. I think its the most powerful front wheel drive car ever as
standard. Just awesome.
4. Having watched some of your displays & stunts, I take it that it must be fun to go to work every day. What is your favourite stunt & favourite display?
Yes I do love my job, my favorite stunt is probably the two wheel driving, I love the first reaction of the passengers as we leave the ramp, just hanging
up in the air.
5. Where to next? Are there any stunts that you would like to carry out?
Earlier this year I helped set a new Guinness World Record for do-nutting in an Evo. It was great fun and I'd love to have a go at a few more before the year is out.
6. From some topics on the site, Megan Fox or Angelina Jolie. Who is the hottest?
Megan Fox - no question!
7. What would your typical day involve?
Its not as glam as you'd expect!! I get through approximately 3 sets of tyres every weekend so I spend most of the week changing tyres.
8. What is your every-day car?
I don't actually own an "every day car" as such, most of the cars I have are either press cars on loan or for motorsport. I currently own a MK1 Escort RS2000 Rally car a classic Mini autotest car & Honda Fireblade.
9. Do you think what you do is more science based or art based?
Mmmm good question, I have never been asked that before. Probably Art because the more you practice something the better you get, however when I was competing in the British Autotest championship, the science in developing the car really made a difference. So probably a bit of both!
10. What is the scariest thing that has happened to you in a car?
Myself and the team perform all the stunt driving for the Top Gear Live shows, one year as part of a star wars tribute I had to smash a car through
a caravan 5 times a day! If that wasn't bad enough, the producer fitted it with pyrotechnics that expoloded as I drove through it, We actually got through 22 caravans in a weekend!
If there is anything you would like to tell us about then carry on, I wont stop you!
